Conventional Farms produce most of the food consumed in our society. They attempt to get the highest output of food at the lowest cost. Critics of the industrial food system are concerned about the hidden costs to the environment, farm workers, animals and the health of the end consumer. Nevertheless, buying local, conventional food is better for the environment than buying conventional food from distant places.
