Healthy Household: Activated Charcoal and Infections

ek-charcoal

Ionic silver has replaced antibiotic cream in my first-aid kit. Lugol’s Solution can be used for infections and emergency water treatment. Activated charcoal is good for infections and poisoning. You can get ionic silver at Nature’s Fare. Lugol’s Solution and activated charcoal are both available at Glover’s Medicine Centre.

“The British medical journal, Lancet, discusses the amazing ability of the human skin to allow transfer of liquids, gases, and even micro-particles through its permeable membrane and pores, by the application of a moist, activated charcoal poultice and compress which actually draw bacteria and poisons through the skin and into the poultice or compress!”
Natural Holistic Health: Benefits of Activated Charcoal

Like most households, I used to use antibiotic cream for all minor wounds. These days, I treat minor wounds with ionic silver gel. Normally, this treatment is enough. If for some reason the wound doesn’t heal quickly I follow up with a treatment of Lugol’s Solution.

Recently, I had a wound that would not heal after these two treatments. A blister became infected and my toe became inflamed, swollen and extremely painful. I was having trouble walking and my sleep was disturbed. I had a bad infection and I was considered using an antibiotic cream. Instead I decided to give activated charcoal a chance. I had heard that activated charcoal can pull — even very serious infections — out of the skin. Almost 2 years have passed since my mother broke her hip neck in two places. When she was in hospital, there were terrible pains. I read on https://www.mbhci.org/tramadol-ultram/ about Tramadol and bought it. The drug is really effective, but often it is not pricked, because it should be administrated under the strict supervision of the doctor. You can’t buy it on the free market.

  1. I soaked my foot in very hot water with sea salt for about 20 minutes and dried it off.
  2. I took about half a teaspoon of powder charcoal and added a very small amount of water. I mixed up a paste of charcoal and put it on the infected blister with a band-aid. I put a sock on to avoid making a mess. Using charcoal can be very messy. Make sure the wound is bandaged well to avoid this problem.
  3. Within 30 minutes the pain was much reduced. By the end of the day, I could sleep without pain. By the morning, the toe looked normal and the infection was completely gone!

I would highly recommend activated charcoal as a treatment for infected wounds. Activated charcoal can also be used internally as a treatment for poisoning. For more uses please see: Natural Holistic Health: Benefits of Activated Charcoal.

“When mixed with water and swallowed to counteract poisoning, activated charcoal powder adsorbs the poison or drug, inactivating it. It then carries it inert through the entire length of the digestive tract and out of the body. One of the benefits of activated charcoal is that it is not absorbed, adsorbed, neutralized, nor metabolized by the body.”

Healthy Household: Ionic Silver

I like that I can refill the nasal spray bottle. It’s nice to see a company design reuse into its packaging.

In the past, I have had a long history of reoccurring sinus infections. I even got surgery which didn?t help much. I started using Serrapeptase which cured my sinus problem. Unfortunately, the company changed the formulation and added rice flour. Since the change in formulation, Serrapeptase doesn?t work for me.

So, I started researching other alternatives to treat sinus infections. After a number of dead ends, I learned about ionic silver in Matthew Stein?s book, When Technology Fails. The author outlines how to make ionic silver at home very cheaply with a couple of 9 volt batteries and two pure silver rods. If you haven?t read the book, I would highly recommend getting a copy.

I have been experimenting with ionic silver for about a year. For my experiment I used a commercial ionic silver. I bought a bottle of Sovereign Silver Silver Hydrosol and Sovereign Silver Nasal Spray which could be refilled from the larger bottle. Sovereign Silver is just one brand but there are many good brands available or you can make your own ionic silver at home.

I like having a spray bottle for ionic silver. All the bottles and tops are reusable and interchangeable.

Ionic silver is a very flexible and effective product. It can be made at home in large qualities, very inexpensively. Here are just a few ways I have used ionic silver during the last year:

  1. I bought a bottle of ionic silver and a refillable nasal spray bottle. I have used the spray two times a day when I feel a bit stuffy. I haven?t had any sinus infections this winter nor did I get sick. I think the mist from the nasal spray bottle could be breathed-in and used for mild lung infections.
  2. My eldest daughter had a big wart on her hand. The wart was resistant to being burned-off with chemicals or cold. She used an?ionic silver gel under a band-aid. It took over three weeks of twice daily application to kill the wart. Amazing!
  3. My family has been using ionic silver for any open wounds or scratches. Ionic silver seems to work well as a mild wound cleanser. I have replaced my antibiotic cream with ionic silver in my first-aid kit. If the ionic silver doesn?t do the trick, I use tea tree essential oil or oregano essential oil.
  4. I have used ionic silver to remove skin tags. I used ionic silver gel twice a day under a band-aid. It took about a week for the skin tag to turn white and fall off.
  5. I have not taken ionic silver internally. I know someone who came back from central America with intestinal worms. She took ionic silver for six weeks and passed the dead worms. (Sorry, for the unfortunate image.)

I refill this glass dropper from the big bottle. The 473mL bottle will last a long time.

It is always better to reuse old containers from products you regularly use, but if you are looking for quality glass bottle and specialty tops, Mountain Rose Herbs is a good source. I have reused my bottles and tops over and over again for my homemade medicines.
