Always store your formulation in the fridge. This primrose oil is cold-pressed and unrefined and should be refrigerated. When ready to use, form the oil into a small ball as shown on the left.

In my search for a healthy household, I have gone out of my way to learn more about homemade alternatives to commercial and pharmaceutical products. The major reason why I wanted to produce homemade products were issues around product safety and purity. I just want to know what was truly in a product. I have found homemade products are cheaper than commercial products even though my homemade products are made with superior quality ingredients. Finally, I found I reduced my waste stream dramatically because I use re-useable containers.

Some younger and older women have problems with lubrication. A simple solution to this common problem is using a quality organic coconut oil as a sexual lubricant. Using coconut oil as a sexual lubricant avoids additives commonly found in commercial sex lubes. Using coconut oil is very cost effective since most people have the product in their kitchen. Coconut oil has the added benefit of tasting good unlike many sex lubes.

As women get a bit older, lack of lubrication can become more of an ongoing issue. As women approach perimenopause and menopause, a dry vagina can become very troublesome. Combined with a nourishing traditional diet loaded with healthy animal fats, this recipe can help the older women have a happy vagina. This recipe was inspired from a product called Vaginal Renewal Complex. If you do not have the time or the inclination to make Happy Vagina Pearls, you can contact Olga Cohen at Inner Intimates. Olga is very passionate and helpful about this issue.

Happy Vagina Pearls
1/2c organic shea butter
1/4c organic primrose oil
1/4c organic shea nut oil (optional)
2T organic vitamin E oil (optional)

Bring a pot of water to a boil. Put the shea butter in a 2c Pyrex measuring cup. Use 2/3c shea butter if you decide not to include the shea nut oil. Place the Pyrex cup into the water and bring to a simmer. Do not over heat the shea butter. Just heat enough to melt. Remove from heat and let the shea butter cool to at least body temperature. Add the other oils and stir very well. Pour the formulation into a glass jar and store in the fridge.

Here is the shea butter being carefully melted in the Pyrex glass measuring cup. Cool the shea butter to at least body temperature before adding the remaining oils.

When ready to use, spoon out 1/2tsp of formulation and work the oil into a small ball. Once a day, insert a small ball into your upper vaginal canal, just like a tampon. If needed, insert a small ball just before sex. If you have any extra oils on your hands use the oil to moisturize any dry skin. You can use this formulation as a general skin cream. Each cup of formulation will make 96, 1/2tsp small balls. Each small ball with have 78iu of vitamin E.

I prefer to use organic ingredients when I make homemade cosmetics and medicines. I get many of my herbs and supplies from www.mountainroseherbs.com.

“Shea Butter is naturally rich in Vitamins A, E, and F, as well as a number of other vitamins and minerals. Vitamins A and E help to soothe, hydrate, and balance the skin. They also provide skin collagen which assists with wrinkles and other signs of aging. Vitamin F contains essential fatty acids, and helps protect and revitalize damaged skin and hair. Shea Butter is an intense moisturizer for dry skin… Evening Primrose Seed Oil has anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant effects and may also act as a blood thinner and blood vessel dilator.”
