Healthy Household: Ionic Silver

I like that I can refill the nasal spray bottle. It’s nice to see a company design reuse into its packaging.

In the past, I have had a long history of reoccurring sinus infections. I even got surgery which didn?t help much. I started using Serrapeptase which cured my sinus problem. Unfortunately, the company changed the formulation and added rice flour. Since the change in formulation, Serrapeptase doesn?t work for me.

So, I started researching other alternatives to treat sinus infections. After a number of dead ends, I learned about ionic silver in Matthew Stein?s book, When Technology Fails. The author outlines how to make ionic silver at home very cheaply with a couple of 9 volt batteries and two pure silver rods. If you haven?t read the book, I would highly recommend getting a copy.

I have been experimenting with ionic silver for about a year. For my experiment I used a commercial ionic silver. I bought a bottle of Sovereign Silver Silver Hydrosol and Sovereign Silver Nasal Spray which could be refilled from the larger bottle. Sovereign Silver is just one brand but there are many good brands available or you can make your own ionic silver at home.

I like having a spray bottle for ionic silver. All the bottles and tops are reusable and interchangeable.

Ionic silver is a very flexible and effective product. It can be made at home in large qualities, very inexpensively. Here are just a few ways I have used ionic silver during the last year:

  1. I bought a bottle of ionic silver and a refillable nasal spray bottle. I have used the spray two times a day when I feel a bit stuffy. I haven?t had any sinus infections this winter nor did I get sick. I think the mist from the nasal spray bottle could be breathed-in and used for mild lung infections.
  2. My eldest daughter had a big wart on her hand. The wart was resistant to being burned-off with chemicals or cold. She used an?ionic silver gel under a band-aid. It took over three weeks of twice daily application to kill the wart. Amazing!
  3. My family has been using ionic silver for any open wounds or scratches. Ionic silver seems to work well as a mild wound cleanser. I have replaced my antibiotic cream with ionic silver in my first-aid kit. If the ionic silver doesn?t do the trick, I use tea tree essential oil or oregano essential oil.
  4. I have used ionic silver to remove skin tags. I used ionic silver gel twice a day under a band-aid. It took about a week for the skin tag to turn white and fall off.
  5. I have not taken ionic silver internally. I know someone who came back from central America with intestinal worms. She took ionic silver for six weeks and passed the dead worms. (Sorry, for the unfortunate image.)

I refill this glass dropper from the big bottle. The 473mL bottle will last a long time.

It is always better to reuse old containers from products you regularly use, but if you are looking for quality glass bottle and specialty tops, Mountain Rose Herbs is a good source. I have reused my bottles and tops over and over again for my homemade medicines.
